The roof of the Woodmen Hall is leaking.

The Friends of Woodmen Hall are participating in the Give Lopez campaign this year with a very specific and important request to the Lopez community. The 120-year-old Woodmen Hall needs a new roof. Yep, the old girl has sprung a leak, actually a few. Our local fix-it guys have patched her up enough so we have time to talk to all of you about this and raise enough money to begin the process. This is a big project! But luckily, we have been thrifty and diligent and hopefully have enough money saved to pay for at least 1/3-1/2 of this project. That’s where you, and your “get ‘er done” spirit, along with your amazing generosity, come in. The roof will cost $120,000 to $150,000. Wow, that’s a lot. The good news is that roof will last long past the Friends lifetimes, so we won’t have to do this again.
The Give Lopez campaign has an asking limit of $20,000 and the Friends would be thrilled to receive that! The benefit to all this is that the Friends, the Seniors, and all you lovely Lopezians, will be able to enjoy this amazing community Hall for many, many years to come, celebrating concerts, weddings, memorials, birthday parties, anniversaries, and educational events right here in our warm, and dry, historic building.
